Why SUP?

Explore Ramsey Lake from a unique point of view! Take a mandatory SUP orientation before setting off on your own adventure around the world’s second largest lake contained within city limits! The SUP Division also holds social paddles, day trips, and Paddle Canada certified courses.

Orientation

During the orientation, new members to SUP learn how to stand, paddle and turn a SUP. Members also learn which safety equipment is required and how to read Ramsey Lake’s water conditions so that they can make safe and informed decisions. It usually only takes one lesson to get the hang of SUP.

  • The orientation lasts between 45 minutes - 1 hour.

  • Information on lesson times/dates/prices under Online Registration page.

Equipment

The SUP division has various SUP boards and paddles. We have all-around boards, touring boards, surf SUP boards, racing boards, and inflatable boards. All safety equipment is provided.

Levels

Everyone’s comfort level is different when it comes to SUP. The club owns a range of SUP boards so that the members can find their perfect SUP fit. Some boards are more stable than others; while some boards are faster than others. In the end, it’s all up to you!

User requirements:

  • Safely maneuver the SUP board

  • Paddle in windy conditions

  • Understand and utilize safety equipment

  • Handle all club equipment with care

  • Pass the mandatory orientation course
